So I announced my lens came in yesterday morning...well yesterday evening my flash came too! I am totally a newbie when it comes to external flashes. Have not one single idea how to work them, never touched one or seen one in real life. So figuring it out was and will be an adventure! I managed to get a few shots this morning that I feel turned out nicely. No harsh shadows or coloring. So I decided to share them with you. I am reading my camera's manual again learning how to use external flashes with it along with the actual manual that came with the flash! Wish me luck!
Me too, well for just having it one day :-) it will come in handy now when i have situations that would be best suited for an external flash instead of stock! Any pointers you wanna share? lol I am doing photos in Manual with the flash...its kinda hit or miss really... some come out great and others are lacking ya know! do you have any settings that work well kinda as a default? ISO suggestions?
It does look like natural lighting. I do auto white balance and when inside, ISO from 400-1600 and have gotten pretty good shots (without flash). Another thing I have been doing is shooting in aperture priority and been happy with the results. Still have a way to go and much more to learn! I have a Nikon D3000 SLR. Good luck with your new lens n flash.
