Me & God

This week the theme for "Good to Wow" is *Faith*. Faith is the belief in something more than what we know. It's believing in something we can't physically see or feel, but know that it's there.

"Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen."Hebrews 11:1

This past year has been anything but easy for us. You've been on most of the journey with me, since my one year bloggaversary just passed..but even though I pour my heart and soul into most posts, there are things you don't know about either.

This year has brought me closer to God then I ever thought possible. I have felt His touch, his presence and His divine mercy upon me in every way this year. I was brought to my knees, crippled in faith. I let too many earthly things take my attention away from the most important thing, Him. I felt like things were going so wrong, things were so bad, they couldn't get any worse. I felt like "why me?, why would God do this to me?" But what I really should have been saying (and what I say daily now) is Today is just one day! Look at all the things I'm blessed with that others may not have! I am so thankful for all that He has given me, my health-my family-my life! That's what YOU should say as well! Don't let earthly materials take your eyes off God-don't let anyone take your faith and beliefs away!

Don't let anyone bring you down to a level where you feel worthless..because you my friend are priceless! Totally unique! All you and no one else will ever be or measure up to you! Be proud of yourself, give praise for who you are and what you've been through to get there!
For everything there is a season! A time for everything under the sun!Ecclesiastes 3:1

No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.
1 Corinthians 10:13

God tests us but doesn't push us beyond our breaking point. We may come close but he always gives us the way of escape so that we live and learn and know what is right and what is wrong. We build and shape ourselves this way, build character and strength and know what's good and bad in the world. I am so thankful that He has always been there to catch me when I'm at the end of my rope. I have always loved the "Footprints in the Sand" poem, for there has been many times I know I've been carried by God, otherwise I may not have made it..Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.Proverbs 3:5 For those like me who want to be reminded of this awesome verse here it is:

One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord.
Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky.
In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand.
Sometimes there were two sets of footprints,
other times there were one set of footprints.

This bothered me because I noticed
that during the low periods of my life,
when I was suffering from
anguish, sorrow or defeat,
I could see only one set of footprints.

So I said to the Lord,
"You promised me Lord,
that if I followed you,
you would walk with me always.
But I have noticed that during
the most trying periods of my life
there have only been one
set of footprints in the sand.
Why, when I needed you most,
you have not been there for me?"

The Lord replied,
"The times when you have
seen only one set of footprints,
is when I carried you."
Mary Stevenson

How powerful that is! I just get teary-eyed reading it! Imagine! He died for us and our sins and also carries our weight and burdens in the lowest and most trying times of our life!
What a God! What a King! What a Saviour!

This makes me think about the song "Fix your eyes upon Jesus and all the things of the earth will grow strangely dim in the light of His glory and grace." Wonderful post!

What a great post my friend. I like to believe that God is doing the most work with us when we're feeling the most pain. God is definitely at work within you!

Great pics, but you know what? They pale in comparison to the sermon you just so wonderfully preached!! Amen, Natalie! Praise God!!

This stirred something down in me... reminding me that I'm not alone in my sufferings -- I'm not the only one going though "bad times" -- but I am blessed!! I do need to wake up with a attitude of "praise God I'm alive and you've saved me and forgiven me again, today!"

Thanks so much for sharing your heart!

big hugs and lots o' love!
